Crunchyroll has announced that they are officially bringing the upcoming That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond anime film to theaters in all major global territories (excluding Asia) in Early 2023!
The trailer for the movie illustrates what fans of the series can expect from the film regarding animation quality, new enemies, and the intense storyline.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond was officially announced in September 2021, with the first trailer released in Japan in March. The anime film will release in Japan in November 2022.
The movie follows a long-running conspiracy swirling around a mysterious power known as “Queen” in Raja, a small country west of Tempest. When Rimuru, a slime who evolved into a Demon Lord, crosses paths with Hiiro, an Ogre race survivor, a new, action-packed adventure begins. However, the power of friendship and loyalty will be put to the test as they make challenging decisions.
The movie is an original story penned by Slime light novel creator Fuse. The series studio, 8 bit, is handling the production, and the cast from the TV anime is also returning. Some of the returning voice actors for the cast include:
- Miho Okasaki, who is voicing Rimuru Tempest. Miho is known for her roles as Mary Hunt in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! and Roux Cristasse in The Dawn of the Witch.
- Makoto Furukawa, who is voicing Benimaru. Makoto is known for his roles as Saitama in One Punch Man and Hatsuharu Souma in Fruits Basket.
- Chikahiro Kobayashi, who is voicing Ranga. Chikahiro is known for his roles as Legoshi in Beastars and Saichi Sugimoto in Golden Kamuy.
