It’s okay not to like your name, but most games don’t let you change it. The good thing is that The Finals is a game that allows you to change your name pretty easily. However, it’s not done in the game itself, you’re going to have to do this on a browser or mobile.

Below, we’ll go over how to change your name in The Finals, and we’ll also detail what to do if that doesn’t work. Make sure to check out our guide on how to add friends if you’re having trouble there.

How to change your name in The Finals

If you’re not happy with your current in-game name in The Finals, you can change it relatively easily. However, you can only change your name once every 10 minutes. So, make sure you’re happy with your new name before you change it!

  1. Go to the Embark Studios website and log in with your Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox account.
  2. Once you’re logged in, click on your account name in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Profile from the drop-down menu.
  4. On your profile page, click the Edit button next to your display name.
  5. Enter your new preferred name in the box and click Save.
  6. Relaunch The Finals and your name will have been changed.

Once you’ve changed your name, you’re ready to start playing The Finals and competing for the top spot on the leaderboard. Just remember to choose a name that you’re proud of and that represents you well.

Keep in mind that this won’t change your Gamertag, PSN, or any kind of username outside of The Finals. This only changes your display name for the game.

If you are having issues, like the name won’t change even though it says it did. You can clear your cookies in your browser and then try again. If that still doesn’t work, then we recommend going to the help website for assistance.
