The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo, a point and click puzzle adventure from developer Gammera Nest and publisher Astrolabe Games, will launch special physical editions from publisher and distributor Meridiem Games for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.

This includes a limited Collector edition with a large variety of collectibles, and a simpler “fantabulous edition” with physical copies and a key ring. Today’s new trailer reveals that these physical editions are slated to release on September 7th, 2023.

The game is also expected to launch on PC via Steam and the PlayStation 4. You can watch the full physical edition trailer on the Gammera Nest YouTube channel:

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo features some incredible hand-drawn art design, a throwback to classic 2D animation. The protagonist feels like a long-forgotten Dr. Seuss character, as well as an authentic vintage cartoon.

However, their world feels a little darker, due to surreal visuals that look mysterious, askew, and dangerous. The tone is intended to feel playful though, with some silly enemies and amusing puzzle scenarios.

Point and click adventures are naturally patient, and The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo promises to be “symbolic and full of meaning”, according to the Steam page. It seems creative and surprisingly thoughtful, overall, and the Physical Editions properly reflect that.

The Collector Edition of The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo boasts an overwhelming amount of content. The vinyl soundtrack matches the hero’s color scheme. A flip book captures the spirit of animation, and with other collectibles like the jigsaw puzzle, the Collector Edition feels strongly thematic. For example, a watercolor print is thrown in for good measure, creating the same kind of whimsy as the game trailers.
