The Spirit and the Mouse, the indie puzzle adventure from developer Alblune and publisher Armor Games Studios, will get a special physical release from Super Rare Games on April 27th, 2023. It will also feature a small collection of adorable art cards.

There will only be 4,000 Limited Edition copies, and the official Super Rare Games product page currently lists an asking price of $37.24 USD.

The Spirit and the Mouse originally launched on September 22nd, 2022, and it’s available now on PC or the Nintendo Switch.

Super Rare Games also released a brand-new gameplay trailer to coincide with the announcement, so that newcomers can review the visuals and play style:

The Spirit and the Mouse is an incredibly cute game that feels directly inspired by the moment Remy is struck by lightning in Ratatouille. However, the story is certainly unique, and the mechanics run away with a more whimsical, fantasy approach. After all, the hero uses electrical powers to progress.

But most importantly, the big hook of The Spirit and the Mouse is its unabashed optimism and cheer. You can even collect happiness, and the story-driven gameplay is centered on helping others. The Kibblins are also both impish adorable.

The art design overall harkens back to old school 3D platformers, including similar camerawork and puzzles. As a result, a physical edition feels totally appropriate for The Spirit and the Mouse. It’s also something of a hidden gem, so hopefully the new release will renew some much-deserved interest.

Unfortunately, the Limited Edition doesn’t include very much. It would have been nice to see something a little more creative, perhaps a more nostalgic collectible that fits the game’s style. But the art cards do pop, and feature the key characters.
