RocketBrush Studios launches early access to The Unliving on October 31st on Steam.
The Unliving is a rouge-lite action role-playing game with numerous spells and skills. The main character, known as Death, can raise the undead and take control of a mystical army. Supposedly, the early access release was on October 21, 2021. However, RocketBrush Studios decided to release early access on October 31, 2022, on Steam. Together with the release date announcement, the studio also provided a teaser for the features of The Unliving.
The Unliving first released a live demo on Steam on February 21, 2022. The demo entails the Necromancer’s Citadel Expanse, ritual, and different weapons and spells. Moreover, the player can collect cryptic notes and force answers from the enemies. The truth will be revealed as the Necromancer contains the lost memories through the cryptic notes piece by piece. However, powerful bosses will hinder the player from gathering the needed memories. Each boss has unique fighting skills and spells where crucial strategic thinking is necessary to emerge victorious. Death can resurrect and transport to a different world. Additionally, the world is randomly generated for each run.
Although the game’s original release has been delayed, RocketBrush Studios made sure that players’ feedback was heard. As suggested, the studio improved the undead’s army Artificial Intelligence. The path to the boss is now shorter, however, there are more branches with new challenges and rewards. New rewards are given to the players, such as the secret forge and mysterious wanderer. The animation of spells and runes was also improved. The studio added seven languages – Deutsch, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Polish, and Portuguese.
