GameMill Entertainment recently made an exciting announcement, revealing the release date for the much-awaited video game adaptation of AMC’s prominent post-apocalyptic horror drama TV series, The Walking Dead: Destinies. It is scheduled to launch digitally on November 17, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Physical copies for PlayStation and Xbox consoles will hit stores on December 1, 2023, while the Nintendo Switch physical release is scheduled for January 16, 2024.
The Walking Dead: Destinies is a third-person action-adventure where players will begin their journey as Rick Grimes, waking alone in a hospital surrounded by the undead. As they navigate a world overrun by zombies, players will assemble allies and fight their way across iconic locations from The Walking Dead series, including Atlanta, the Greene family farm, the prison, and Woodbury.
In The Walking Dead: Destinies, there will be crucial choice-driven moments, and players hold the power to shape the destiny of their team of characters from the series. This means players will have a chance to alter The Walking Dead’s history, weaving their own path through the series, and choosing who to save or eliminate. The game features a roster of more than 12 iconic characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead including Rick, Shane, Michonne, Carol, Daryl, and more.
The Walking Dead: Destinies boasts a unique stress system that can make the difference between life and death for heroes in their next Walker encounter. In battling hordes of Walkers, players will wield a variety of melee and ranged weapons including bats, katanas, revolvers, shotguns, and crossbows. Apart from combat skills, it is also necessary for their survival to master stealth combat, rescue survivors, manage limited resources for their party, and defend their camp from the hordes of the undead.
