The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to receive a huge new feature with the launch of CD Projekt Red’s official modding tool, the Witcher 3 REDkit. Scheduled for a full release on May 21st, 2024, this robust editor will be free for all owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC. It’s exactly what every PC player wants from every game: Mod support.

The modding community has eagerly awaited the REDkit. It offers players great flexibility for modifying and expanding their experience within the world of The Witcher. Described as a “comprehensive modding tool” built from the developer’s own suite of tools, the REDkit could create entirely new quests, characters, environments, and more.

For years, The Witcher 3 has had unofficial mods. Now that an official toolset has been released, the process will be easier for anyone who wants to try it. With the REDkit, users can do more than just change existing content—they can create entirely new additions to the game.

In preparation for the full release, CD Projekt Red previously allowed modders to playtest the REDkit. So, we are sure the mod kit is ready for users to use with minimal bugs.

The Witcher 3 REDkit represents a big change for the game. Even though it’s been out for a while, modding kits always bring a fanbase back for a period of time. Mods are arguably what kept Skyrim so popular for so long. The Witcher 3 is set to have even more content and detail because of the new official modding tools.
