Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh is an upcoming puzzle adventure video game developed by Pendulo Studios and published by Microids. This game features unique and innovative gameplay bringing together all of the most important aspects of adventure and investigation video games. It is based on the Cigars of the Pharaoh, the fourth volume of The Adventures of Tintin comic series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.
Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh was first announced back in August 2022 along with its first teaser trailer. Recently, publisher Microid released a new trailer, showcasing the narrative of the game. The trailer showed Tintin writing a letter to the Editor-in-Chief while he was on board a ship that had just arrived at the port side at the entry to the Suez Canal. Tintin recounts his meeting with Professor Sophocles Sarcophagus, an Egyptologist who invited him to join in the exploration of Pharaoh Kih-Oskh’s tomb. A look at the environment, puzzles, vehicles, and other features of Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh was also presented in the latest reveal trailer.
Based on the trailer, it seems that Pendulo Studios and Microids are well on their way to developing a relatively decent Adventure of Tintin video game adaptation for PC and next-gen consoles. In any case, it will be very interesting to see what Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh has to offer as it also has been a very long time since Adventure of Tintin was adapted into a video game.
Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh has yet to announce a specific release date at this time. Nonetheless, Microids has confirmed that it will launch this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.
