Torchlight: Infinite, the popular action RPG from developer and publisher XD, has released another brief trailer for the next season coming in September, as well as the upcoming new hero.
The trailer description further confirms that the devs are “completing the final preparations” for next season, and that a Season commencement and preview livestream is planned for this Friday on August 11th, 2023. An exact premiere time for the livestream was not confirmed.
Torchlight: Infinite is available now on PC and mobile devices, including both iOS and Android. The most recent season is Cube of Rapacity, which began in May. You can watch today’s season preview trailer on the Torchlight: Infinite YouTube channel:
Aside from confirming the livestream, today’s teaser is unfortunately light on content, focusing on how “Thunder Spirit has expanded”. The new cinematic is very much like last week’s teaser that mentioned the Frost Spirit, with no further details about the new hero ahead.
However, it seems that most key details will be released on Friday, and July’s theme trailer probably revealed more than enough until then. Seasons are few and far between, but the devs have consistently added a fair amount of content with each major update.
The season 3 preview from April delved into the new hero, skills, gears, crafting system, balancing, and even a new mechanic. It lasted around twenty minutes, so fans can probably expect at least that much from this Friday’s livestream.
There would certainly be plenty of opportunities for rebalancing, and change has been a major theme in the latest trailers. There’s also the cryptic message “Growth resembles mist, forests, and all things in the world”, which might help fans speculate a little more.
