Trine is a series of side-scrolling RPG games that tasks the player with solving puzzles and defeating bosses, whilst commanding a number of different classes and taking in a vibrant landscape. The series has been popular enough to justify the creation of four titles, and according to a leak on Twitter, a fifth one is on the way.

This leak comes from billbil-kun on Twitter, a reliable leaker with a reputation for announcing upcoming Playstation titles. billbil’s Tweet shares the name of the upcoming fifth Trine title, alledging that it will be called Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy.

The leaker wasn’t able to share any other information regarding Trine 5. When asked when the game would release, they commented that they couldn’t tell as delays frequently happen with these titles.

The last Trine title was Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, which was released for PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in October of 2019, making it a solid 4 years since we’ve had a new Trine title. The original was released for PS3 back in 2009 and was also in 2014 as Trine: Enchanted Edition.

Frozenbyte, the developers of Trine, haven’t announced anything on a new Trine title yet. However, there were rumors last year that we would hear something about the next Trine this year, and that seems to be the case.

The Trine series has a reputation for solid co-op play and a great visual experience, combining stunning art and lighting to create a truly pretty game to look at. We can expect that the next game in this series will continue Trine’s legacy in both regards.
