Trinity Fusion, a new sci-fi roguelite platformer from developer and publisher Angry Mob Games, has just rolled out a new patch for Early Access today. The update includes bug fixes, “major changes” for The Outskirts, and the Boss Rush Mode from Beta.
Trinity Fusion launched into Early Access last week on April 13th, 2023. It’s available now on PC, but it is still expected to launch on PlayStation and Xbox later on. Here’s the update announcement from Trinity Fusion’s official Twitter feed, which includes a link to the full patch notes:
Trinity Fusion is centered on a multiverse storyline that deeply informs the environments, characters, and enemies in interesting ways.
Although some may be tired of the multiverse concept, which has been prevalent in everything from the MCU and DCEU to MultiVersus, Trinity Fusion really captures the tragedy of the premise. It also takes the time to explore the more outlandish potential of its world, and the mechanics are cleverly used to make every universe feel genuinely connected.
This indie platformer has gone largely overlooked, with only a handful of reviews to its name on Steam, which is a shame. The visuals are very tidy and modern, and a roadmap on the official Steam page proves the devs are dedicated to adding a lot more content.
Today’s update mostly includes some minor, traditional changes like bug fixes and balancing. However, Boss Rush is a welcome addition that really fits the pacing and combat in Trinity Fusion. The bosses are sort of a highlight, and they should be fun to revisit after mastering the game.
The Outskirts have also gotten a serious overhaul, making it easier and faster to play, and it’d be nice to see that in other areas too. It’s definitely a step in the right direction and proves the devs are truly listening to their fans.
