Two Point Campus, the comedic sim sequel to indie hit Two Point Hospital, has just revealed its first major DLC, “Space Academy”, with a new gameplay trailer. The Space Academy DLC will roll out on December 6th for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Nintendo Switch fans will receive the update a week later on December 12th, 2022.

The trailer cleverly riffs on Star Trek’s famous Starfleet Academy, with some familiar art designs for the narrator and their TV set, including more than a few self-aware jokes. Here’s the full trailer on developer Two Point Studios’ YouTube channel:

Today’s trailer confirms yesterday’s hint at gameplay set in space, which included a screenshot of a space station and celebrated Red Planet Day. Only, instead of being a full-blown sequel (which still could have been totally viable), it’s going to be a glorious DLC.

Today’s trailer teases anti-gravity training, space combat, and pillaging space’s natural resources. It’s clear that the DLC will include a surprising volume of content, with whole new settings like Universe City, Cape Shrapnull, and Cheesy Heap, which appears to be a reference to the moon.

The trailer description also mentions “stellar” student archetypes, inter-dimensional diplomacy and a County for alien life, so expect some big surprises.

The staggering wit of Two Point Studios continues to impress. True, Fall Guys also recently beat this trailer to the punch with its own Star Trek TV set gag last month. But Two Point Campus‘ ability to lovingly mock is very satisfying, as in the trailer’s pokes at stardom and resource abuse.

It’s important to note the language of the trailer, which states that Space Academy is the “first” DLC. That means fans should expect something more in the future, and if Space Academy is just the beginning, it’s fun to speculate what Two Point Studios would bring to an actual sequel after Campus.
