There has been a rise in party games in the last decade that have focused on allowing anyone with a cellphone to play. One of the most popular series is the Jackbox series of games that allow players to take part in trivia competitions or clever word games. Due to the series’ popularity, other party games like Use Your Words have taken advantage of the same technology, letting large groups of people play together.
Use Your Words is a fill-in-the-blank word game that allows players to input custom answers given different prompts and minigames. Players can expect to add subtitles to old movie footage and answer weird questions with their whimsical answers. Now a sequel to the hit game has been fully funded on Kickstarter with four days left in the campaign.
In a video on the Kickstarter page, Brent Black discusses his visions for what Use Your Words 2 can be. In the first game, they ended up having to cut a lot of content that was previously planned. In the sequel, Black is hoping to use many of those ideas to create a game that he’d envisioned in the first place. According to the video, the sequel will have twice as much content as the original.
Players will also have more freedom over how the matches play out, selecting specific minigames to play in whatever order they want. There will also be new powerups that help the player get ahead of the competition. Add in the new batch of prompts and the sequel is looking to provide plenty of entertainment for a long time.
Use Your Words 2 has reached its main funding goal, but still has stretch goals that will allow the game to come to other consoles. If the game manages to reach the top goal, $100,000, the entire game will be translated into French.
Now that the game has been fully funded, players can likely expect work to begin soon and the game to release sometime in the next few years.
