V Rising is the popular vampire survival game that just entered into early access this week. While the launch has been pretty solid for this type of release, it looks like a recent update has caused an issue that has made player’s roofs go missing, which means the sun will burn down upon you while you are chilling in your castle.

The bug will be addressed with a hotfix according to Jeremy Bearson on the official V Rising Discord:

Greetings Vampires.

Regarding the roof bug glitch, for the time being, we’re going to be releasing a patch that should fix it for most people.

After servers are back up, your castle should be fixed. However, some people may need to remove a piece of their castle (wall or floor) and replace it to fix the roof.

Please be aware this will require us to restart the servers once more, and there should be only a few minutes of downtime on Official servers and player-run servers that have automatic update switched on. Get to safety!

Thanks for sticking with us today!

As mentioned in the quote, you can replace a piece of your castle and it will respawn your roof. However, this appears to only work for an in-game day, because players have reportedly had to do this multiple times. If you want to be totally safe, you should consider just adding some Mist Braziers to your base so you can remain fully covered!

While you wait for the fix, be sure to check out our guides on how to move your Castle Heart, utilize stairs, and how you can get paper in the game.
