Riot Games has delivered on its promise to introduce exciting new content for VALORANT this year. It appears that the free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter is kicking off 2023 with Episode 6. Riot Games does not miss a beat when it comes to creating visually spectacular and hype-worthy trailers for VALORANT Episodes. This time, the promotional video for Episode 6 included appearances by several agents, including Harbor, Astra, Fade, Omen, Sage, Killjoy, Raze, and Jett. At the very end of the clip, it was shown that the agents spawned on what is presumed to be the new map.
Episode 6 is titled REVELATION and is set to begin on January 10th. In line with the rollout of this update, a fresh addition will be made to the available map selection. According to a Twitter post by prominent VALORANT leaker, Mike, the new map is called ‘Lotus‘ and will have 3 Sites similar to Haven.
Riot Games had announced their intention to bring Split back into the map pool before the year 2022 came to a close. Breeze and Bind were also announced to be removed from the map pool for Competitive and Unrated queues. VALORANT has been maintaining a 7-map pool at all times in the Unrated and Competitive queues. As a result, the departure of Breeze and Bind frees up a spot for Split as well as another place for a brand-new map.
While the addition of a new map in a new Episode may not come as much of a surprise, fans are excited about experiencing new map mechanics and especially the return of Split. VALORANT players also look forward to what Riot Games has in store for this year, including new skin bundles as well as some Agent and game mode updates. Episode 6 Act I will also mark the arrival of a new skin bundle, so more details on this should be revealed prior to the update’s release.
