Vampire Survivors, a popular action roguelike with pixel graphics, is expanding their roadmap due to the success of their Early Access release. The game is just $2.99 USD and has over 64,000 reviews on Steam currently. The developer has announced in a recent post on Steam that they will be expanding significantly!

Currently, Vampire Survivors is about 70% of the way complete in terms of the 1.0 roadmap:

  • Playable characters: 15 / 24
  • Weapons and evolutions: 32 / 48
  • Power-ups: 18 / 20
  • Normal Stages: 3 / 5
  • Special Stages: 2 / 5

The first major game mechanic being added to the game, Arcanas, will be released in April and unlock a bunch of new viable builds.

According to the developer, the game is currently being ported over to a new engine:

The port to the new engine is going smoothly and the game is already fully playable, lacking mostly in polish and content, but we also ran benchmarks that show a tenfold increase in performance (and so in framerate).

A version of the game on the new engine is targeted for summer, but obviously delays are possible.

Steam Deck players can get their hopes up, because it sounds like an option for the new handheld is being worked on and will hopefully be released at some point soon!
