Veiled Experts, an upcoming team-based shooter from Nexon, has just released a brand-new cinematic teaser for its Beta Test. Naturally, a release date for the game still hasn’t been confirmed this early on. According to today’s trailer, beta test sign-ups start on December 15th, 2022. While no gameplay is revealed here, you can still get an idea of what to expect in the trailer:

Nexon has a library of games that are both highly successful and somewhat divisive. They sort of have a bargain bin feeling, as some fans consider their various titles to be pretty derivative. But Nexon is likely best known for the Maple Story and KartRider series, which definitely have large audiences. Veiled Experts has looked like one of their most promising titles yet.

Veiled Experts is a riff on the traditional arena shooter, and it will also be free-to-play. It is very similar to Valorant, though nothing superhuman is evident here. The devs have hinted at unique abilities for each character, as seen in hero shooters like Apex Legends and Overwatch. However, there are also elements of Call of Duty or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

There’s a heavy emphasis on tactics and teamwork, and honestly, today’s new cinematic looks gorgeous. Hopefully, the gameplay itself will be able to deliver. The Steam product page teases a wide variety of movement, and highly interactive environments. Its movement is one of the more distinguishable aspects,

Overall, Veiled Experts sounds like one of Nexon’s more ambitious projects, which presents an equal opportunity for success or failure. It was key to boost hype for the Beta Test, which is sure to determine whether or not the game is on track for a clean launch.
