Nordic history and representation have seen a large boost in the last decade, with the Vikings TV show having a big influence. So much so that it is now partnering with the Vikingard mobile game, which launched last year, for the third time, bringing all new characters for players to adventure into the unknown waters with.

The event is expected to begin sometime this month as the final crossover event between the series and the game, witnessing Ragnar having paid his blood debt. There will be two new heroes, Ivan and Torvi, in addition to the seven already added in the two previous events. Players will have the opportunity to earn all nine during this event.

The actual fight in the event is called “The Final War” and is for the right to be crowned the king of all the kings in the land. The war event will take place across multiple battles, with players who are able to best their opponents moving on to stronger enemies until the winner is crowned the King of Kattegat.

As with typical live-service games, players can log in daily for rewards, with better cosmetics and a new avatar available. NetEase and MGM are clear about wanting to bring everything they’ve introduced in the game together to a satisfying finale and that’s what it hopes this special event will be.

The Vikings TV show reached its natural conclusion according to the wishes of those involved, but the iconic characters are able to live on through collaborations like this.
