In the intricate world of Blasphemous 2, you are confronted with multiple pathways and choices that define your journey. Among these, deciding which Guardian to face first can be pivotal. You have Orosphina, Lesmes, and Radames as your potential adversaries. But who should you defeat first in Blasphemous 2?
Which Boss Should You Defeat First in Blasphemous II? Orosphina, Lesmes, or Radames
The first boss you should defeat is Orosphina of the Confraternity of Embroiderers in Blasphemous 2, located to the east on your map in the Palace of Embroideries. She’s a good starting boss to learn the game’s fundamental mechanics, and I managed to defeat her first try. The other two starting bosses are more difficult and are harder to get to based on how Blasphemous 2 is designed.
Due to this reason, the recommended order to start the game is as follows: the Palace of Embroideries (East), Crown of Towers (North), and then the Sacred Entombments (West)
The natural progression of Blasphemous 2 takes you to the Palace of Embroideries, where Orosphina resides. This is the path you should follow and the first boss you should face. Why? Because it’s how the Blasphemous 2 was designed, around the three starting weapons, Sarmiento & Centella (Dual Blades), Ruego Al Alba (Sword), and Veredicto (Mace), and not the bosses.
How the Weapons Change Blasphemous 2
The starting weapon you take in Blasphemous 2 changes the placement of where you can find the other two weapons on your journey, as each weapon holds a unique ability that interacts with the Blasphemous 2 world. Weapon progression is needed, as each weapon plus one is required to complete the following boss area. It’s nothing short of amazing how the game combines these mechanics.
Yet, let’s say you find Oropshina difficult; no barrier stops you from heading towards the Choir of Thorns to the northwest of Grilles and Ruin. From there, you can proceed to the Crown of Tears and later to the Crown of Towers, as it were, to take on Lesmes. However, due to how each game area works, weapon progress is critical to each area.
I started with Sarmiento & Centella (Dual Blades) and found my second weapon, Ruego Al Alba (Sword), in the Crown of Towers before defeating Orosphina. So, if I wanted to, I could have gone to defeat Lesmes or headed toward Radames and explored the areas there, as weapons are the key to exploring areas, not boss progression.
