Xbox and Bethesda have officially revealed that a massive Developer Direct will premiere on January 25th, 2023, at 3 PM eastern time. According to a new tweet from Xbox, the direct will feature Minecraft Legends, Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and The Elder Scrolls Online:
A follow-up tweet from Bethesda explained that Starfield would get its own showcase, citing the need for more dedicated time. After all, Starfield is expected to be the next big Bethesda universe, and is still expected to launch in the first half of 2023. A release date for the Starfield direct wasn’t confirmed:
Although Starfield will be absent, there’ll be some very juicy details. Elder Scrolls Online fans will learn about 2023’s big Chapter update, which is going to get its own reveal event immediately following the Direct.
Elder Scrolls Online has nearly been around for a decade, but player interest and the general quality of the game haven’t really declined. That’s because it always manages to find creative ways to expand, which can be tough for the genre. Aside from the freedom to make your own fun, Elder Scrolls Online offers a surprising density that makes it easy to lose track of time.
Minecraft Legends, Redfall, and the new Forza Motorsport built for next-gen consoles will each reveal new gameplay, which is always fun to break down. However, Forza is a little far out to reveal much, and Minecraft Legends will focus on the very specific PvP features.
So, Redfall should likely offer the most content. According to Xbox’s full blog post today, the Redfall news will include “several minutes” of gameplay that elaborates on a wide variety of mechanics. Although Redfall has been a little divisive among fans, developer Arkane Studios made an instant sci-fi horror classic with Prey.
