Technology can have a large impact on serious gamers, and Xbox just announced some exciting new features for their latest Elite Wireless Controllers.
Here’s the tweet from Xbox’s official feed, though it leaves out many other surprising improvements:
The new controllers will cost $139.99 directly from Microsoft, but the cost may be a worthwhile investment for streamers and other frequent gamers. Finding the right level of comfort is crucial for gaming success, particularly for fans who play extensively and/or competitively.
Fortunately, the latest Elite Wireless Controllers will allow gamers to customize their experience. They have basically been completely reworked, allowing many unexpected additions, both inside and out.
New Controller Features
As the promotional tweet promises, these new Xbox controllers will allow the thumbsticks to be removed so that players can adjust the tension for a personal fit. Users can simply insert a key and twist.
Also, the shorter hair trigger locks will naturally allow faster reaction times, which is more likely to affect shooters. But there are also new grips for the triggers and handles, which now have a “wrap-around rubberized grip”, as stated on the official product page.
There are also redesigned bumpers, and more options for your thumbsticks and paddles. The controller will even be Bluetooth compatible. But while these changes are appreciated, they were also expected.
One of the most interesting and simple additions is the trio of profile buttons. Right on the face of the controller, players can easily switch between three custom profiles that are assigned to various games.
Even better, the rechargeable battery pack promises up to 40 hours of gameplay. With all of the ergonomic changes built around comfort, longer game time is clearly the selling point of these controllers.
Xbox has sometimes struggled to keep up with gamers’ demands. Gameplay and the gaming lifestyle continues to change more quickly every day, requiring more from the tech side of things. Fortunately, these new controllers are a good start.
