The Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel meta shifts once again with a change to the Forbidden/Limited list planned to release soon for all versions of the game. All platforms will receive the updated Forbidden/Limited list changes on May 9th, which will change which cards can only be used a limited amount of times and which cards are flat out forbidden, with one card even making the transition from limited to unlimited.

Limited

Cyber Angel Benten and Conquistador of the Golden Land are the two cards being added to the limited list. “Limited” means that you can only have one copy of a card in your deck, and is reserved for cards that make such an impact on the game that having multiple copies can give your deck an unfair advantage.

This is certainly the case for Conquistador of the Golden Land, which is part of the currently OP Eldlitch deck.

Semi-Limited

Semi-Limited cards are cards that can only be taken twice in a deck. While not as severe as Limited status cards, this still prevents some particularly strong cards from overwhelming your opponent. The cards making it to the Semi-Limited List are:

  • D.D. Dynamite
  • Sekka’s Light
  • Fusion Destiny
  • The Phantom Knights of Torn Scales
  • Tri-Brigade Fraktall
  • Virtual World Roshi – Laolao
  • Lyrilusc – Cobalt Sparrow
  • Prank-Kids Rocksies
  • Adamancipator Analyzer

Forbidden

Luckily, no cards are being added to the Forbidden list this time around. You won’t have to worry about losing any of your favorite cards due to them being banned.

Unlimited

Lastly, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon has been removed from the Semi-Limited list and made Unlimited. This is great news for fans of the Red-Eyes deck, such as myself, as one of the most powerful cards in the deck can now be taken an extra time.
