I’m a cruel and hateful human? You are leaving a nasty comment on a person’s website when you clearly don’t understand how the internet works.
1. We have no control over what Google places in your news feed.
2. You could go directly to the Wordle game website to avoid spoilers if they are this much of an issue for you.
3. The idea that you think we can keep “answers out of the headline” is ridiculous. Many people search for that exact combination of words that don’t have Google News, and if we hid them from the headline, they would have no ability to find the site and it would severely impact our traffic.
4. This isn’t a full spoiler, it’s a partial hint that wouldn’t completely ruin the puzzle for you. Yes, it’s not ideal, but you have ways around seeing it if you are this DISMAYED about it.
We here at the site very much enjoy Wordle, and do not want to spoil it for anyone. We have taken steps to limit spoilers, but it’s not possible to eliminate them entirely. Maybe take a breather next time you decide to go on an anger fueled rant.
I agree that you’ve created a spoiler. It’s easy enough for people to search clues on online dictionaries, but suppose you didn’t have the letters “r” and “u?” It isn’t a rant to say so. It looks like you’re cashing in on a phenomenon without caring how it impacts the game. Here’s a good source for clues that take what you have and doesn’t give it away:
I’m not denying that it’s a spoiler if you see it beforehand, but I did mention that it’s out of our hands whether Google shows it or not. It is also pretty easy to avoid it if you go directly to the Wordle website and play the game if that’s something you are concerned about.
You wouldn’t call it a rant when it contains these two sentences: “You must be a cruel and hateful human being who wants to keep others from having enjoyment. KEEP THE ANSWERS OUT OF THE HEADLINE!”? I would say that is the definition of a rant. It seems pretty uncalled for to call someone “cruel and hateful” when they’ve done nothing to deserve it. At worst the post is spoiling a day of the game (unintentionally), it’s not like we are sharing the ending of Harry Potter intentionally to people not looking for it. If you truly think it’s okay to go on someone’s website and call them a “cruel and hateful” person because the made a post about a game that might slightly spoil something then we have nothing further to discuss.
The whole idea of creating guides and content is to provide people with knowledge they are seeking. We wouldn’t be posting if people weren’t actively looking for it. That’s apparently cashing in on a phenomenon without caring? Really? There’s hundreds of websites posting the answer to each daily puzzle, and it is extremely easy to find out the answer with basic tech knowledge.
