A leak claims that Genshin Impact version 3.0 would have a shorter runtime

The duration of Genshin Impact version 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will possibly be reduced by one week, according to leaks.
Genshin Impact Version 3 0 Duration Will Be Shortened

With version Genshin Impact 2.8 approaching its conclusion, version 3.0 is certainly just around the corner. As a new update arrives, new playable characters will be available as well. Version 3.0 will open the Sumeru region and a lineup of Sumeru characters. Unfortunately, recent leaks stated that the 3.0 update and its succeeding versions, 3.1 and 3.2, will be cut down by a week.

In Genshin Impact, each version usually runs for six weeks or 42 days. However, some versions’ time duration is extended due to delays caused by unprecedented events. For instance, the previous 2.7 update needed to be prolonged since the 2.8 update was not ready for release, owing to a COVID-19-related issue that occurred at the primary facility of HoYoverse.

Recently, Genshin Impact dataminer, SpendYourPrimos, shared information from a reliable leak claiming that versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will be shortened by one week. Version 3.0 is regarded as the biggest upcoming update since it will bring Sumeru explorable for players and is also said to include the first playable Dendro characters, Tighnari and Collei, along with Zhongli and Ganyu’s rerun. Meanwhile, 3.1 is expected to be Genshin Impact’s second Anniversary patch.

With the duration of two big updates being cut down, featured time-limited events and banners will also have their duration reduced. However, it is also reasonable for HoYoverse to cut the length of the h of the forthcoming updates if they intend to return to their original roadmap schedule, which was disrupted by the 2.7 delay.

Some players were disappointed as a shortened update gives a shorter time limit to save Primogems and pull for the featured character banners. However, given that Genshin Impact has not disclosed any information on a potential return to the original update, it is still possible for the leak to change in the future.
