What Is the Mastery System in A Universal Time?
Mastery is a new progression system introduced in JJK Part 2 patch for A Universal Time. Some abilities now have a “Mastery Level,” which players can level up to unlock various benefits. As you progress, you can unlock anything from statistical buffs to new moves and even entirely new movesets.
Note: Mastery is entirely separate from Ascensions, and the two systems are unrelated.
Will All Abilities Have Mastery in AUT?
Not all abilities have Mastery right now, but more abilities—both old and new—will receive Mastery in future updates. However, the developers do not plan to add Mastery to every ability already in the game or every new ability added.
Currently, only four abilities have Mastery:
- The Strongest
- King of Curses
- Sorcerer Killer
- The Vessel
How to View Your Mastery in AUT?
You can check your Mastery Level in the “Stats” tab of the ability menu. Here, you’ll be able to see your current progression for any ability that supports Mastery. It will look like this in the image below:

How to Get Mastery in A Universal Time
The method for gaining Mastery depends entirely on the specific ability. Some abilities require you to use a certain weapon to kill enemies, while others might require you to acquire and use specific items when that ability is equipped.
For more detailed instructions on how to level up Mastery for the new JJK abilities, check out the individual guides linked below for each ability. These AUT Mastery guides will walk you through how to reach max Mastery rank, how to get Mastery, and more.
