Ninja Kidz Time Masters, an upcoming action and adventure beat ’em up from developer and publisher Selecta Play, has just released a new official gameplay trailer.

According to the Steam page, Ninja Kidz Time Masters is planning to release on PC via Steam on September 29th, 2023. However, today’s trailer hints that it’s aiming to release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation sometime this summer. You can watch today’s new trailer on the Selecta Play YouTube channel:

Ninja Kidz Time Masters proudly flaunts how family friendly it is, even at the expense of losing some of its audience. The game certainly encourages some breezy arcade fun for younger players, especially with local multiplayer, but the art design and theme may not really appeal to older fans of beat ’em ups.

Granted, the genre has been inundated with retro art designs, so it is nice to see something that doesn’t heavily rely on nostalgia alone. The stages could stand to be brighter, and perhaps not so stagnant. It would do wonders for the colorful palette already in-game.

However, the animations look solid, and the time traveling aspect seems unexpected and fun. It’s also appreciated that the game will be available on all major platforms, making it very accessible.

There are a couple of different modes and unlockables, but this remains a small game in scope. Whether or not it will benefit from that remains to be seen.

It may have a hard time competing with the likes of Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, which was recently announced and will launch soon. But it seems playful, cute, perfectly harmless, and it also has a forgiving budget.
