Oblivion Override, a new cyberpunk action roguelike from developer Humble Mill and publisher Paleo, has just released a roadmap for upcoming content through January 2024. Between June and December, fans can expect new mecha, weapons, multi-save and more. In January 2024, the devs will add a new chapter, enemy, and final boss while completing the main story.
Oblivion Override recently launched into Early Access on June 13th, 2023. It’s available on PC via Steam. Here’s the full roadmap from Oblivion Override’s official feed:
Oblivion Override built a lot of hype with its Steam Next Fest demo and has continued to earn praise in Early Access for its swift and challenging action. Oblivion Override is a highly thematic take on classic roguelikes. It’s filled with inspired imagery that understands and celebrates its influences, without simply relying on them.
The variety of creative weapons plays a large role in its success. So, it’s a delight to see that the devs are aiming to add even more weapons, though it’s unclear just how many. It’ll be interesting to see how they blend with the current meta.
Notably, there aren’t any exact release dates for each update in today’s roadmap. In a new post on Steam, the devs state that “the frequency of updates will be slightly reduced”, while remaining alert to community feedback. It’s an ambitious roadmap either way, so fans will surely be patient as highly requested content rolls out.
The Steam post also mentions that the devs intend to address the game’s difficulty in the next major update, but they have no “intention to create a threshold”. While newcomers might feel dismayed, fans of the genre that expect Oblivion Override’s level of difficulty will surely be relieved.
