It’s time again for a new chapter of Dead by Daylight, arguably the most popular multiplayer horror game ever released. With the promise of a new Survivor and Killer, many players are eager to see what exactly developer Behaviour Interactive has in store.
As expected, there will likely be a fair amount of changes to the Public Test Build as Behaviour works to adapt the title to the new End Transmission chapter.
What changes are coming to DBD‘s PTB with End Transmission?
As discussed in the official blog post, End Transmission is a whole new batch of content, releasing two new characters and a new map into the evolving horror game. Below you’ll find all the information about the changes coming in End Transmission.
New Killer: The Singularity
This killer seems to be some strange amalgam of tech and flesh, with metal and organic parts fused together. The Singularity has a giant scythe and bright glowing red eyes, which makes him pretty daunting from afar. His Perks include:
- Genetic Limits: When a Survivor finishes healing, they suffer the exhaustion effect for 24/28/32 seconds.
- Forced Hesitation: When a Survivor is put in a Dying State by anything, all the others within 16 meters around them suffer a Hinder status effect for 10 seconds, reducing movement speed. Cooldown is reduced with leveling the Perk.
- Machine Learning: After damaging a Generator, this Perk activates and makes the next generator you attack compromised until completed. When it is completed, Singularity becomes undetectable and gains 7% haste.
New Survivor: Gabriel Soma
While we don’t know a whole lot about Gabriel yet, he seems to come from a future or dimension that has advanced into exploring other planets. He’s seen running into a spaceship in the Chapter’s trailer, so it’s safe to assume he might be from the future.
- Troubleshooter: When chased, this perk activates and you’ll see the Generator closest to being done with an aura. You’ll see the killer for 4/5/6 seconds after dropping a pallet. This effect can last for 6/8/10 seconds.
- Made for This: This Perk activates when Injured and allows you to run 1/2/3 percent faster. When you finish healing another Survivor, gain the endurance status effect for 6/8/10 seconds. Can’t be used when suffering from Exhaustion, but doesn’t cause it.
- Scavenger: Holding an empty toolbox activates this Perk, succeeding a great skill check while repairing gives one token, up to 6/5/4. When you reach the maximum tokens, you lose them all immediately and the toolbox is charged to full.
New Map: Dvarka Deepwood
It’s confirmed that this new map is going to take Dead by Daylight to another planet for the first time, with it supposedly once offering hope for the future of humanity. However, now it’s patrolled by the Singularity, as he looks through the brush for any humans he can destroy. The map promises some features like:
- Open areas that give players somewhere to explore
- Landmarks like destroyed vehicles and busy jungles
- Two biomes and multiple floors
- New luminescent wildlife that reacts to the exit gate
This map is sure to provide brand-new opportunities for both the Killers and Survivors who are unfortunate enough to find themselves there.
New Features
The End Transmission is also bringing some quality-of-life improvements that will hopefully make DBD a more enjoyable experience. These include:
- Search Bar: Players can now look for specific customization and loadout options with a search bar. This should make players who’ve been playing for a long time happy, as they no longer need to scroll through their items.
- Item Rework: Items are now divided into separate categories based on Survivor Items, Special Items, and Temporary Items
- Misc. Features: Forces players to back out of the menu when a backend update is released, protection against hackers using unowned characters, and error messages about disconnecting being more clear.
Killer Changes
As with most standard updates, there have been some balance changes to the Killers to make the title more fair. These include:
- The Artist:
- Ink Egg: Increase the max capacity of Dire Crows by one. Decrease the time Dire Crows stay idle before disappearing by 2 seconds.
- Vibrant Obituary: Increase the length of time a DIre Crow’s Killer Instinct reveals Survivors by three seconds
- The Nemesis:
- Damaged Syring: Increase the time it takes Survivors to use a Vaccine by three seconds. Increase the length of Killer Instinct when Survivors use a vaccine by three seconds.
- Tyrant Gore: Increases mutation rate when destroying zombies with Tentacle Strike by 75 percent while decreasing zombie respawn time by 7.5 seconds.
- Zombie Heart: Increase mutation rate when destroying zombies with Tentacle Strike by 75 percent.
- The Trickster:
- Lucky Blade: Increase the duration of Main Even by 0.3 seconds for each Blade hit
- Waiting For You Watch: Increases the duration of Main Event by 0.4 seconds for each blade hit
- The Ghost Face
- Power: Movement speed while crouched: 3.8 m/s, Night Shroud recharge time is 20 seconds, and Killer Instinct duration after being revealed is four seconds.
- Knife Belt Clip: Reduce the Terror Radius by 12 meters when crouched
- Night Vision Monocular: A Survivor that reveals The Ghost Face is given Exhaustion for 10 seconds
- The Executioner:
- Power: When you hit a Survivor with Punishment of the Damned, the Survivor is inflicted with Torment
Perk Changes
Just like with Killer balancing changes, the team at Behaviour has made the Perks a little more balanced as well. These changes include:
- Pop Goes the Weasel: After hooking a survivor, the next generator you damage instantly loses 30% of its current progress.
- Deja Vu: Due to long matches, there will be a future fix, but for now this perk will reveal the auras of three generators that are close to each other indefinitely. It also grants an increased repair speed bonus of 3/4/5 percent.
- Flashbang: After completing 70/60/50 progress on any generator, Flashbang activates. You can then hide in a locker and press the Active Ability Button 1 and craft a flash grenade.
Be sure to check the full blog linked above for the full list of bug fixes in the list, most of which apply to the Killers and Survivors.
