A recent leak has provided a glimpse into the future plans for Dead by Daylight, the popular asymmetric survival horror game developed by Behaviour Interactive. The leaked information, which has surfaced on social media, outlines the roadmap for the game’s eighth year, with a host of new content and improvements reportedly on the horizon.

A previous leak today showed the potential partnerships with iconic metal bands Iron Maiden and Slipknot, and a now confirmed leak that actor Nicolas Cage will be added to the character roster.

According to the leaked roadmap, the Year 8 plan is filled with regular updates, including the introduction of new characters and in-game events, along with various gameplay improvements and quality of life upgrades.

As per the leak, June 2023 will see the release of the End Transmission Chapter, introducing a new killer, The Singularity, and a new survivor, Gabriel Soma. Subsequent months will continue to expand the game’s roster, with new killers and survivors scheduled for release in August 2023, November 2023, and March 2024.

The roadmap also indicates the continuation of the game’s Tome series – collections of challenges that offer players the opportunity to unlock more of the game’s lore and earn exclusive rewards. Tome 16, which introduces a new survivor, is reportedly due for release in July 2023, with Tome 17, Tome 18, and Tome 19 following in October 2023, January 2024, and April 2024 respectively.

In addition to the fresh content, Dead by Daylight’s Year 8 is set to bring a series of gameplay improvements, including a rework of the perk meta, map balancing, and measures to deter camping – a controversial strategy often criticized for diminishing the enjoyment of other players.

Meanwhile, proposed quality of life improvements include the addition of a loadout search bar, player cards, and survivor disconnect bots, along with a mechanism for providing feedback on player reports. These enhancements aim to streamline the player experience and cultivate a healthier in-game community.

As with any leak, it’s important to note that these details are yet to be confirmed by Behaviour Interactive, and until an official announcement is made, they remain speculative.
