How to Get All Crafting Materials in Fisch

Fisch has five types of crafting materials, with multiple variations for each. The main types are Thread, Driftwood, Pearls, Gemstones, and Spines and Fangs. Here’s where to find them all so you can craft all the new rods!

Threads

  • Threads (Ancient, Magic, Lunar): These are found exclusively in treasure chests obtained from completing treasure maps. You can fish them out, but there’s a low chance.

Driftwood

  • Driftwood (Standard, Mythical, Atlantean, Lunar, Frozen, Ancient, Void, Inferno, Moon):
    • Standard Driftwood: The base material, which can be appraised to obtain other Driftwood types.
    • All Driftwood Types: Obtained from crab cages or fishing in Moosewood, Roslit, Terrapin, Mushgrove, and Sunstone.
      • Mythical Driftwood: Use a Mythical Rod and Magnet bait.
      • Atlantean Driftwood: Use a Trident Rod.
      • Lunar Driftwood & Frozen Driftwood: Fish during an Aurora Event.
      • Ancient Wood: Fish at Sunstone Island.
      • Void Wood: Fish at Desolate Deep or Keeper’s Altar.
      • Moon Wood: Requires either a Solar Eclipse or Moonlit weather to fish up in Snowcap. This wood, along with Moonstone, is needed for the Celestial Rod and is among the hardest materials to obtain.
      • Inferno Wood: Can be obtained while fishing in Roslit volcano. You’ll need a Reinforced Rod or Magma Rod to fish in the volcano’s lava.

Pearls

  • Pearls (Regular, Rose, Gilded, Deep Sea, Exotic): Found by catching and opening clams.
    • Clam Location: Fish for clams exclusively on the backside of Roslit. Fishing directly on the sandy areas is reportedly more effective.
    • Exotic Pearl: Extremely rare, even with dedicated clam fishing.

Gemstones

  • Gemstones (Amethyst, Ruby, Opal, Lapis Lazuli, Moonstone): Obtained from meteors summoned using Meteor Totems.
    • Meteor Totem: Costs 75,000C$. Found at the very top of the volcano in Roslit. The path involves a simple obby; once you reach the outside area, turn right to find the totems.
    • Meteor Landing: Meteors always land at the same spot in Ancient Isles: near the Merchant Camp, accessible via a zipline from the nearby NPC.
    • Drop Rates: Amethyst (30%), Ruby (20%), Opal (10%), Lapis Lazuli (3%), Moonstone (1%). The Moonstone, needed for the Celestial Rod, is particularly rare.
    • Meteor Bug: Be aware that meteors can sometimes freeze mid-air, causing the game to pause.

Rare Materials: Meg Parts and High-Level Wood

  • Meg Spine & Meg Fang: Extremely rare materials obtained by fishing anywhere in Ancient Isles. The pond directly in front of the merchant is rumored to be a good spot, but this is based on anecdotal evidence. The drop rates are very low.
