Apex Legends Mobile has just released a brand-new character “trailer” for Fade, otherwise known as Ignacio. The trailer is actually a cinematic, which gives fans an inside look at the character’s backstory.

You can watch the full cinematic on Apex Legends Mobile’s official YouTube Channel here:

The trailer opens with traditional Western scenery and music, giving the story a distinguishable flavor despite its sci-fi roots.

The cinematic begins with Igancio in a group that’s seeking out a dangerous suit for a client. Ignacio dares to try on the suit for himself, when they’re suddenly attacked, revealing that the job was a setup.

It’s always refreshing and satisfying for fellow Spanish-speakers to hear the language in Apex Legends, which has continued to show outstanding representation on all fronts. Although, it is coincidental that both Ignacio and Loba end up with similar revenge plots.

It’s revealed that Ignacio’s father is in his group, and he quickly sacrifices himself so that Ignacio can get away. His friend or family member Luis is eventually killed too, but just before the enemies can gun down Ignacio, he discovers his powers.

The cinematic jumps to the future, when Ignacio returns for vengeance. He overcomes a couple enemies and demands to find their boss. But when they refuse, Ignacio finishes them off and swears to make the target look for him, instead of the other way around.

The animation is decent, and once again proves how effective a Netflix Apex Legends show could be. The new lore is still expansive, detailed and creative.

Apex has an equal share of heroes, villains and everything in-between like Ignacio. The acting here is a little weaker than previous releases, but it’s still got some decent camerawork and staging.
