Apex Legends has finally premiered the “Saviors” launch trailer, which confirms previous leaks that Newcastle will be the new legend for season 13.
The trailer is only a short cinematic, since Respawn Entertainment loves to tease their upcoming content and actual gameplay in steady phases. However, there are plenty of details to unpack, including Newcastle’s abilities and Storm Point’s map changes.

After the Williams Sendoff update, Bangalore is still the star of the show. The Saviors launch trailer begins with Loba challenging Bangalore’s decision to leave, suggesting there’s still feelings between them, although Valkyrie swooped in.
The rest of the trailer focuses on Bangalore working with the new legend, Newcastle. Both of them land on a new area of Storm Point with several other legends, and Mirage’s trademark humor is on full display.
In what appears to be a new area on Storm Point, robots attack Newcastle and Bangalore, who seems to recognize him. Before she can say anything, a sea monster attacks the shore, and all of the legends work together to defeat it.
The battle is terrific, including an incredible (and totally unnecessary) stunt from Octane, when he kicks Bangalore’s ult directly into the monster’s mouth.
But the scene also showcases many of Newcastle’s abilities. It confirms that he can drag knocked teammates, while defending them with an energy shield.
And when the creature blasts an energy beam at Bangalore, Newcastle blocks the attack with his deployable wall. This may hint at how much damage it can take.
It’s a breath of fresh air for Apex Legends to tease a new defensive legend in their Saviors launch trailer, since most of the recent additions have been offensive wall-hackers.
The trailer also builds some great lore, and the ending is a gut punch for anyone who avoided the leaks. It’s officially revealed that Newcastle is Bangalore’s brother Jackson, ending her long search.
