Asterigos: Curse of the Stars has continued to succeed as one of the most ambitious indie RPGs in recent memory. Its sheer volume of content is already remarkable, so it’s a welcome surprise to find that more DLC is right around the corner.

That kind of pacing will be difficult to keep up with, but given today’s trailer, it’s clear that the devs will maintain the same degree of creativity.

Greek and Roman mythology have inspired a lot of games, thanks to its wide variety of human-like gods and fantastic creatures. Asterigos: Curse of the Stars managed to distinguish itself with its own terrific lore and interesting mechanics. But the devs still translate the iconic mythological figures and creatures with a deep understanding of what makes them appealing. In other words, Asterigos doesn’t rely on theme alone.

According to the official Steam page, Asterigos: Call of the Paragons will introduce a new inter-dimension area that directly expands the plot of the core game. The storytelling is a highlight of the game, since it smoothly guides those incredible boss encounters, so this is a definite win.

Today’s trailer showed off a lot of promising footage, including lengthy shots of the new Paragon Armor and compelling new enemy mechanics. Alongside a classy and thrilling soundtrack, news of the DLC should encourage newcomers to invest in the core game.
