Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance hasn’t confirmed a release date yet, but today’s trailer description mentions it’s expected “later this year”. You can pre-order the game now. It will be available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You can watch today’s official reveal trailer via IGN’s YouTube channel:
Avatar: The Last Airbender remains one of the most sophisticated, funny, and imaginative series in animation or any other medium.
This has made the IP very tricky to adapt in any other form, and there have been many previous games. Their quality has been as uncertain as distinguishing delectable tea from deadly poison. Recently, all eyes have been on Avatar Generations, a mobile RPG.
However, Quest for Balance seems to have a little more freedom than that, and today’s trailer description adds there will be two-player local or online co-op. There will be nine memorable characters to play. These details really should’ve been stressed in today’s footage, which is fairly vague. It shows a lot of familiar faces, exploration, and perhaps a couple of puzzles.
It’d be nice if the cooperative gameplay supported enough players to make up Team Avatar, but it’s lucky the mechanic is included at all. Its theme will be more than enough for players to give it a try, either way. And while the graphics don’t currently look impressive, there’s plenty of authenticity in its art design.
