Baldur’s Gate: Game is currently Syncing – Fixes and Solutions

Try these solutions to the Game is Currently Syncing save game issue in Baldur’s Gate 3. Hopefully, due to the server issues on Steam, the issues are corrupt data. I assume after Steam has been hammered, up next is Steam Cloud being hammered. Here are some potential solutions:

Turn off Steam Cloud

Now, here’s the first potential fix I stumbled upon during my troubleshooting odyssey. You see, our issue could be linked to Steam Cloud. So, let’s try turning it off for Baldur’s Gate 3, okay?

First things first, shut down Baldur’s Gate 3. Next, navigate your way to the Library and right-click on Baldur’s Gate 3. Under the General tab, you’ll find – Steam Cloud. Slide that white circle to the left, effectively turning it off. Once you’ve done that, take a deep breath, relaunch BG3, and cross your fingers.

Launch Steam in Offline Mode

If you don’t want to mess with Steam Cloud, here’s another solution, Steam Offline Mode. This means Steam will cut all ties with the outside world – no online services, no store, nada until you decide to go back online.

Here’s what you do: Head over to the Steam Tab in the top left corner of the Steam application, give it a click, and choose “Go Offline…”. The world disappears, and it’s just you and Baldur’s Gate 3. Give saving a try now.

Sign Out of the Larian Launcher

With Baldur’s Gate 3 being the new shiny thing in town, there might be some hiccups between Steam and the Larian Launcher. And this could be messing with your saves.

The good news is that the fix might be as simple as signing out of the Larian Launcher. Yes, you heard me right, just sign out. And don’t worry about the login process; you can skip it a miss this time.

I hope that one of these solutions works for you. If not, you’re going to have to wait until things calm down, with Steam fixing itself or Larian releasing a patch.
