The multiplayer first-person shooter game, BattleBit Remastered, which supports up to 254 players per server and sports a distinctive low-polygon aesthetic, has released a new update. The game has been making headlines for tearing up the Steam charts just after release. Update 1.31 comes with a variety of improvements and adjustments.

Foremost among these changes is an alteration to the game’s progression system. The XP needed per rank have been halved, which should deliver an improved leveling experience for players. However, like many aspects of this game in Early Access, this adjustment may be subject to future changes.

On the bug-fixing front, issues with the game’s DLC, specifically the Supporter Pack 1, have been resolved to ensure proper loading. Similarly, the update has addressed numerous terrain and collision anomalies across various maps, such as the clip at the Bunker in Basra terrain and the floating rock between points B and A in Basra.

The update has also introduced a simple tutorial to the Shooting Range. This tutorial aims to explain the game’s basic features to players, offering a helpful guide for newcomers to BattleBit Remastered.

Significant alterations have been made to two of the game’s classes as well. The Medic class now displays a downed icon indicating the remaining time before a player gives up. The Support class has been endowed with the ability to build a new Hesco Wall, a feature exclusive to this class.

In terms of gameplay, the developers have addressed an issue that prevented damage to prone players. Moreover, to improve player control, simultaneous pressing of keys A and D or W and S will now halt player movement.

The developers have paid attention to minute details as well. An instance where the suicide C4 would detonate while the player is navigating the main menu or scoreboard has been fixed. The ‘Vignette’ setting, which was not operating as intended, has also been fixed.

The update comes with enhancements aimed at improving the game’s overall performance and playability, including adjustments to the game’s key bindings and ping kick system, the latter now less likely to kick players for short-term connection issues.

In response to community feedback, additional cover has been provided for the Farm objective in TensaTown. The same map has seen the river lowered by a meter to facilitate the movement of vehicles under bridges along the canal. The 64v64 layout in Lonovo now includes a repair station at the base.
