Canadian developer Behaviour Interactive has seen monumental success since the launch of Dead by Daylight in 2016, allowing the developer to open a number of offices across Canada and in the UK. Now, BHVR has announced that it will be opening another United Kingdom office in Truro, Cornwall, comprised of former employees of AntiMatter Games, a local developer.
In a press release sent out earlier today, the BHVR Executive Vice President of Services Wayne Meazza stated that the developer saw an opportunity to acquire a new team, saying, “When we learned AntiMatter Games was closing, we jumped at the opportunity to accelerate our strategic expansion by adding the studio’s proven, experienced team. This represented a true win-win situation…”
Behaviour Interactive has been on an expansion tour since April 2022, operating in offices in Toronto, Seattle, and now out of the United Kingdom. The opening of this UK – South office follows the Feb. 2023 acquisition of SockMonkey Studios in Middlesbrough, Teesside, UK, which is now under the moniker of UK – North.
With multiple acquisitions in such a short period, some might get worried about BHVR’s ability to maintain this workforce without overextending itself. Rich Barham, the former CEO of AntiMatter Games, who will now serve as the General Manager of this new office, states, “We feel very fortunate that we can maintain our home in beautiful Truro, and we look forward to welcoming new members to the team over the coming months and years.”
With the recently released live-service BHVR title Meet Your Maker in addition to the hit Dead by Daylight, it seems like the developer has plenty in the works to keep multiple teams busy for years.
