How to build Yugi’s Battle City Deck In Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel

Yugi's Battle City deck has become an iconic representation of his character. Learn how to play his deck in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel with this guide.
Battle City Deck Guide

The Pharaoh’s Battle City deck has been as iconic to his character as the Battle City arc was to the Yu-Gi-Oh anime. It stands as Yugi’s “main” deck, upon which structure packs and themed decks are based off of. In this guide, we’ll show you every card included in Yugi’s deck during the anime’s Battle City arc.

Yugi’s Battle City Deck

Battle City was a massive Yu-Gi-Oh tournament that pitted the anime’s then best duelists against each other. Though the entire thing was a secret plot to gather all three god cards in one place, Yugi and the Pharaoh entered the tournament with the intention to compete, and his deck was built around that at the time.

Yugi Battle City

It’s worth noting that the Yu-Gi-Oh meta has shifted far from where it was at the time, and that in the anime duel rules worked a little differently; While Yugi’s Battle City deck was sold as a structure deck, card synergy isn’t the best and there’s no guarantee that this is going to be the strongest deck in your arsenal. Build this deck for fun, not competition!

How To Play The Deck

Yugi’s battle city deck is all about boss monsters; That is to say that this deck contains a varied roster of powerful stat-block monsters and the cards to summon them. It contains quite a bit of low cost monsters that have gimmicky effects to summon stronger monsters, though admittedly they show their age quite a bit.

Use Queens Knight and King’s Knight to summon Jack’s Knight, giving you three monsters on the board to sacrifice for Slifer the Sky Dragon or fuse into Arcana Knight Joker. Your Magnet Warriors can be tributed from your hand to summon Valkyrion, who has an impressive 3500 ATK block.

Dark Magician and his fusion summons play a prominent role in this deck. Check out our Dark Magician Deck Guide for more information on playing DM and his support cards.

Yugi’s Battle City Deck List

Please note that because this is an anime decklist, some of these cards will be banned or limited in Master Duel. Because of the nature of these decks, rather than tell you what to replace these cards with, I’ll leave it up to you to choose which cards work best with your playstyle.
