In a recent development, Bandai Namco Online made an announcement that could leave gaming fans in the West a bit disappointed. The release of Blue Protocol, the much-anticipated multiplayer online action role-playing game, originally due for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam in the latter half of 2023, has been postponed to 2024. The decision means Western gamers will have to wait a bit longer to dive into the vibrant world of Regnas. On a positive note, a closed beta test for PC is expected to take place sometime in 2023.

Blue Protocol promises an anime-like gaming experience with a stunning cel-shaded aesthetic. It allows players to immerse themselves in an engaging story, bringing their customized characters to life, and choosing from five distinctive classes available at launch. As they progress through the game, players can become heroes in their very own fantasy adventure.

The core of Blue Protocol lies in its cinematic main campaign and abundant side content. The game thrusts players into a heroic quest through Regnas, a realm on the verge of collapse due to centuries of conflict and overexploitation of technology. Along their journey, players meet a host of characters who help uncover the history of Regnas and provide guidance in the face of formidable adversaries.

Players have the liberty to explore the exquisite world and interact with its residents while completing side quests, honing their skills in various challenges, and indulging in leisure activities like fishing. This epic adventure comes to life through five launch classes, each offering a unique set of skills that players can enhance and modify using Skill Points, gained by levelling up their class.

The classes include Blade Warden, a master of sword and shield, perfect for front-line attacks; Twin Striker, specialized in short-range damage with dual axes; Keen Strider, an agile class skilled with a bow for long-range attacks and area effects; Spell Weaver, a class that manipulates the elements for potent fire, ice, and lightning attacks; and Foe Breaker, a class that wields a massive hammer for close-range assaults and a cannon ball for short-range attacks.

During combat, players can utilize the power of Echoes, the spiritual remnants of mystical creatures with strong attacks, to assist them. The game also offers extensive character customization, allowing players to design and play as their own avatar with customizable outfits, accessories, hairstyles, and mounts.

Blue Protocol provides dynamic multiplayer action, permitting players to enjoy the entire story individually or with others. The group content features Fields and Dungeons for up to six players, and extensive Raids for larger groups. Gameplay may also trigger rare open world bosses that unite players from across the map for a chance at valuable loot.
