Brewpub Simulator, an upcoming bar management sim from developer Star Drifters and publisher Movie Games, has officially been delayed just days before the original launch date. It will now release on July 21st, 2023.
The devs have cited that the delay was caused by a new partnership with publisher Surefire Games, which expanded the game’s reach and required changes to the local market. To soften any fan disappointment, the devs have added a new playable demo. Here’s the full official statement from the Star Drifters announcement tweet:
Brewpub Simulator will be available on PC via Steam, where you can wishlist the game and try out a playable demo now. There’s currently no word on a console port. For a look at some gameplay, you can watch a trailer for the demo on the Movie Games YouTube channel:
Brewpub Simulator looks and feels exactly as you might expect. It has many familiar mechanics of the genre, with no real need or desire to elaborate.
However, there is certainly a sense of upbeat fun in it. Brewpub Simulator has opportunities to play mini-games, and it occasionally indulges some of the silly moments that arise from serving questionable NPCs in an indie game.
In addition to the tone, there should be just enough details about beer and pub culture for enthusiasts. Brewpub Simulator feels very much like a game that’s easy to pick up or put down.
And although its theme is the only distinguishable feature about it, the bar theme is also likely popular enough to carry the game’s success. The addition of Surefire Games proves that. The publisher is probably best known for base-building action RPG The Riftbreaker, which added new DLC last week.
