The upcoming narrative-driven turn-based RPG, Broken Roads, has encountered yet another delay in its release, as revealed in a latest update from developer Drop Bear Bytes and publisher Versus Evil. Despite several years in development, the game has regrettably experienced multiple setbacks in its scheduled release. Broken Roads was recently set to launch on November 13, 2023.
In a newly posted message from Drop Bear Bytes, the development team shed light on their extensive efforts since 2019, dedicating countless hours to designing, troubleshooting, and adjusting to player feedback. They revealed that while the game is still on track for launch, they have decided to delay the release once again to allow for additional polish time and necessary QA resources. As such, Broken Roads is now anticipated to arrive around early 2024
Drop Bear Bytes further disclosed that Broken Roads is now content complete and will be longer than originally expected. It now offers around 30 hours of gameplay and nearly 400,000 words of dialogue, emphasizing how extremely time-consuming to test the game.
While some fans expressed disappointment over the delay, given the game’s nearly 5-year development journey, many have been understanding and supportive of the decision. They trust that the additional time for polishing will result in a successful launch of Broken Roads.
Broken Roads is an ambitious project with innovative features, allowing for a unique and customizable gameplay experience, all while keeping classic RPG elements. The game offers a wide range of character development options as well as a unique morality system that diverges from the conventional concepts of good and evil, focusing instead on a character’s philosophical leaning.
Broken Roads will launch soon on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Eager fans can now add the game to their Steam and Xbox Store wishlist to be notified as soon as it becomes available for purchase.
