With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands set to release March 25th, we’ve very little time to prepare ourselves for the adventure our Bunker Master Tiny Tina plans to put us through. Preparing for a Borderlands game can help make your leveling a little smoother, so we’ve put together this build for leveling up the Clawbringer class that we think will help you on your journey through the Wonderlands.
Wonderlands Clawbringer Leveling Guide
For this Clawbringer leveling build, we’re going to be focussing on increasing the lightning and fire damage you and your pet deal. Because any increases to your damages also apply to your pet, we want to increase both sources as much as we can and hit enemies with both sources of damage.

Just so it’s clear, here is the descriptive text on the Clawbringer’s feat, Wyvern Companion:
The Clawbringer is accompanied by a Wyvern Companion that flies through the environment and attacks enemies with its claws and Fire Breath.
Any increases to the Fatemaker’s Damage also apply to their Companions.
While the classes in Wonderlands have very diverse builds, with room for super-specialized combinations when you get to multiclassing, we’re going to be focussing on this one as an introduction to the Clawbrigner class. While it’s by no means a complete end game build, as it doesn’t feature any multiclassing, this is a solid setup for the Clawbringer side of your build that should get you to level 30 and create a good foundation for multiclassing.
Clawbringer Character Creation
To start building your character, you must first pick the right options in character creation. These starting stats help give you the boost you need towards building your character and can save you a lot of hassle later.

For this build, I like to take the Failed Monk background. This gives you extra status effect damage at the cost of crit chance and damage, which you really won’t be needing.

Next, evenly distribute your hero points into Wisdom and Constitution. This gives you further status effect damage while also increasing your maximum ward. These are also the stats you want to focus with later hero points, with a priority on Wisdom.
Clawbringer Skillpoint Guide
We’re going to run through this build via the allocation order of your skill points. To properly follow this leveling build, you should be using your skill points in the order listed below, as you obtain them. Each section of this Wonderlands leveling guide will describe how to spend your next 10 skill points. Remember that you unlock the next tier of abilities every 5 skill points spent.

Assuming Wonderlands functions similarly to other Borderlands games, we should have a total of 50 skill points to spend by max level. We won’t be spending all of them in this build, but we will be keeping that budget in mind.
First 10 Skill Points
The first 10 skill points for this leveling build are fairly simply allocated. Since the point of his build is to increase the Lightning and Fire damage you and your Wyvern companion do, we’re going to first dump our points into the tier 1 skills that do exactly that.
Oath of Fire is your first 5 point dump. Even at face value, this skill is awesome; Extra fire damage on all of your guns is an incredible buff that will roast and toast any fleshy enemies who stand against you on your way to the end game.

Oath of Thunder is your next 5 point dump. While the Lightning Damage buff for you only applies to melee damage, and so isn’t as good on a gun build, the bonus damage for your Wyvern sounds really good and is more to the point of the build.

If you don’t want to 5 dump into this stat right away, you can put 4 into it and 1 point into Radiance, increasing your maximum ward.
Skill Points 11-20
By now, you should have the skills from tiers 2 and 3 to select from. Your next decision should be to put one point into Blasthamut’s Favor, giving you a powerful kill skill that scales off your Fire and Lightning damage.

Next, put 5 points into Dragon Aura. This grants you a permanent buff to elemental damage for your whole party, further increasing the damage you and your Wyvern do as well as giving a nice boost to your party members.

With tier 4 now unlocked, you want to put 1 point into Fire Bolt and Storm Breath. Not only do these abilities give you decent buffs to yourself, but they also unlocked special attacks for your Wyvern that use the increased elemental damage you’ve been stacking; This is what we’ve been building for.

For your next two skill points, put two points into Friend to Flame. Alternatively, if you’re looking to be a little bit tankier, you can instead put these two points into Rebuke for increased damage reduction.
End of Build
Finish leveling up Friend to Flame, giving your Wyvern companion a flat bonus to all sources of damage it deals.

From here, you want to invest in Indomitable and maxing the 3 point skill Awe. Take Indomitable first, simply because it’s a 1 point commitment you can get out of the way quickly. As soon as you get the opportunity, put a point into Storm Smite before anything else.

Storm Smite is the penultimate ability for this build, and it also marks the end of the Clawbringer skill tree. Making use of all of your increased damage, you now gain extra elemental attacks whenever you use your action skills, making you a truly Thor-scaled threat to your enemies.

Any skills you earn from here are freebies to be allocated as you want. Use them to finish up the uncompleted parts of the Clawbringer skill tree, or experiment with some powerful multi-class options. Either way, you now have the makings of a solid class and not too much more investment is required for your character.
That’s all you need to know for this Clawbringer Elemental Damage leveling build! This is a solid build that should help you through your first adventure in Wonderlands. Leave a comment below if you found this guide helpful, and check out our other Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Guides.
