Players are showing mixed reactions to Fortnite‘s Summer Escape event, but there has been near-universal praise for D3NNI’s new Monki concept. While it’s not in the files, the Nanner Buddy back bling from the concept was and now developer Epic Games has revealed that it will be an exclusive release for the next two weeks.

The Nanner Buddy back bling will be granted to Fortnite Crew subscribers who are enrolled between July 4 and July 17, Epic announced via tweet. This is much shorter than the typical monthly period that cosmetics in the Crew pack usually have and it’s likely meant to encourage players to play during the summer event. The tweet also confirms that the back bling was inspired by D3NNI’s concept, adding evidence for the Monki theory.

This is the only cosmetic from that set that has been released, but there are a number of encrypted skins that are still in the game. D3NNI shared the short video above without much context, leading many to believe that the Monki skin is planned to release sometime during Fortnite‘s Summer Escape event. In the tweet, it also shows a coconut emote which may also be specifically part of that set.

There will be no new updates for the duration of the Summer Escape event as Epic Games is on its annual break, so whatever is included in the game’s files is likely all players will get this season. There wasn’t much added at the start of the event, so some players are hoping more will unlock, including the Monki cosmetic set, in the coming days.
