Dead by Daylight has just announced today that their previously announced Funko Pop collaboration has now fallen through. No specific details behind the cause for this cancellation were confirmed, but a new tweet from Dead by Daylight’s official feed simply states that circumstances were beyond their control. Here’s the full thread, which goes on to tease “more exciting collaborations”:

Dead by Daylight has been a powerhouse asymmetrical horror game for years. The game is probably best known for some of its prolific IP crossovers, including everything from Resident Evil to the Ghostface spoof mask from Scary Movie. However, Dead by Daylight has plenty of its own original lore and characters with gorgeous designs inspired by classic horror adversaries.

Their Killers and Survivors have become beloved characters over the years, and each of them would make terrific Funko Pop additions. They would also fit right next to all of the horror icon Funko Pops that they’ve featured in the game.

It’s an absolute disappointment to hear that the new Funko Pops won’t be in production anymore, even if some fans weren’t actually aware of the collaboration yet. Ideally, the devs have something fresh to announce soon in order to soften the blow.

It would also be nice to hear more elaboration from them, since the issue was serious enough to compromise such an elaborate production.

Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight itself is continuing to evolve with the times, renewing interest through advanced mechanics and even more IP collaborations. Just a couple of weeks ago, Dead by Daylight released a new dev update that discussed improvements for their AI Bots. These make the game more accessible for smaller groups of friends, and newcomers who haven’t mastered tactics.
