Dead By Daylight went viral again last month when it announced that the infamous Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage would be coming to the game as himself. In the trailer, players can hear the actor narrating as he walks into a forest, with the splash screen at the end of the trailer stating that Nicolas Cage will be released in Dead by Daylight on July 25. Players can play him on the Public Test Beta now.

The trailer ends with the clip shown from the Nicolas Cage teaser that was previously leaked, with the character’s model walking closer to the screen and giving a better look at the actor. It’s certainly true to his image if a bit dramatized in how he comes off. Cage looks to enter the Fog just in time to help Claudette and the rest of the Survivors as they are cornered by the Trapper.

Players can currently access the Cage character by opting into the Dead by Daylight PTB on Steam, which can be done easily by following these steps:

  • Right-click Dead by Daylight in your library
  • Click properties from the menu
  • Click Beta in the window
  • Change the Beta Participation section from “None” to “public-test”

Nicolas Cage being added to the game follows after one of his children has become a big fan and the actor wanted to show his appreciation for the game. Not only is it a move that makes sense, but the viral moment has also breathed life into Dead by Daylight ahead of the summer.

With the character becoming active today, it’s likely we will see plenty of memes and other clips of players experiencing the best of this once-in-a-lifetime addition of Nicolas Cage to Dead by Daylight.
