Developers of Deep Rock Galactic have responded to player feedback with adjustments to their forthcoming Decontaminator Pack DLC. The devs recently disclosed that the initial reception to the pack’s announcement triggered them to make changes based on user reviews.
The feedback centered primarily on the DLC’s weapon framework and the accompanying paintjob. The development team admitted their apprehension that the new pack might not live up to the standard expected from their DLC releases. Feedback from players confirmed these concerns and sparked changes in the DLC.
The developers recognized that frameworks and armors often engender divergent views among players. What appeals to one player might be perceived as bland by another. This diversity of opinion seems to be particularly heightened with DLC packs. However, the development team identified a common preference among players for ‘bling’ or standout features in their purchased items.
As a result, the developers decided to augment the DLC’s weapon framework and update the paintjob. Emphasizing the ‘Decontaminator’ theme, they added new attachments, including vials and digital displays, to make the weapons more distinct.
The developers also reassured players who appreciated the original paintjob. Their preference has not been overlooked: the first trailer’s paintjob will feature in the forthcoming Performance Pass.

The developers underlined their commitment to constructive dialogue with their player community. They affirmed the value of both praise and critique as significant determinants in shaping the direction of Deep Rock Galactic’s development.
To clarify misconceptions observed in the comments, the developers reiterated that the Decontaminator Pack is a Weapon Framework Pack, not an Armor pack. Upon purchase, players will receive the Decontaminator Weapon Framework and the Decontaminator Paintjob, applicable to all other Weapon Frameworks, Armors, Pickaxes, and Bosco. Further details can be found on the store page, where players can also wishlist the pack to receive launch notifications. The DLC is scheduled for release on June 15th, with console availability from June 22nd.
