Deliver Us Mars, the hit sci-fi adventure from developer KeokeN Interactive and publisher Frontier Foundry, has officially announced that a new update is “coming soon” in direct response to audience feedback. An exact release date has not been confirmed yet.
Deliver Us Mars launched last week on February 2nd, 2023. It is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Here’s the full announcement from the Deliver Us Mars Twitter feed:
The turnaround time for this Deliver Us Mars update is surprisingly quick. Similarly, fantasy RPG Forspoken also recently announced an update based on feedback. It’s great to see devs listening to the community, especially when Deliver Us Mars is smaller than most AAA titles.
Both games remained vague about the improvements they would be adding, likely so they don’t invite incorrect expectations from the fans. That’s also the likely reason they haven’t even set a release date just yet, keeping things in the near future with “coming soon”.
However, an official blog post from the devs does elaborate some. They intend to focus a lot on performance drops, with an emphasis on console players, which makes plenty of sense.
More interestingly, the devs added that they would address concerns “outside of performance types”, so that should be very promising for fans of the new sequel. It implies the update will make some kind of improvements for quality of life with in-game content.
Deliver Us Mars has already received a lot of praise though, for the narrative’s balancing act between grounded sentiment and ambitious adventures. So ideally, some critical technical issues won’t get in the way of discouraging interested fans of the genre. It’s a beautiful game that builds on its predecessor without losing the same spirit.
