Eva Levante returns as the main host for the event, and players can talk to her to grab their Guardian Games quest and class item. The goal is to deposit Medallions, earned through various activities, for the chance to win daily and overall event rankings. Low-tier Medallions can be earned from Gambit, Quickplay Crucible matches, Vanguard playlists, Neptune activities, and Defiant Battlegrounds. High-tier Medallions are awarded for playing Nightfalls, raids, dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, and Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.

Contender Cards and Platinum Cards, purchasable with Glimmer, offer additional opportunities to earn Gold and Platinum Medallions. Throughout the event, players have the chance to earn the two Guardian Games weapons: the returning Title Void SMG with new perks and the new Taraxippos, a Legendary Strand Scout Rifle.

Strike scoring, introduced in last year’s Guardian Games, makes a comeback with updated milestones, challenges, and Strike Medals. Players can earn powerful buffs for their weapons and abilities by achieving high scores, unlocking more opportunities for higher scores and stronger buffs. The Guardian Games Ops Playlist and the Guardian Games Ops Competitive Playlist, both featuring strike scoring, provide Guardians with different challenges and rewards.

A special Crucible game mode, Supremacy, is available during Guardian Games with an option for class-based matchmaking. Guardians must recover class-branded crests from fallen enemies and allies to score points and defeat opposing classes.

The Event Card, available to all players, allows Guardians to complete challenges and obtain additional Guardian Games rewards, including two new Exotic emotes and the brand-new title, Champ. Upgrading the Event Card for 1000 Silver unlocks even more rewards, which can be obtained using tickets earned by completing challenges. If players have earned titles from recent Solstice, Festival of the Lost, and Dawning events, obtaining the Champ title also unlocks the Reveler title for the first time.
