The Rom-com anime Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro will finally air its second season on January 2023 as part of the Winter 2023 anime season!
Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, otherwise known as Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, started as a web manga series illustrated and written by Japanese author Nagashi. The manga series follows the story of Naoto Hachioji, an introverted second-year student at Kazehaya High School and an aspiring artist, who mostly spends his time working on his manga series.
One day, while working on his manga in the library, Naoto, which was referred to as “Senpai” for the most part, meets first-year student, Hayase Nagatoro. Pages of Senpai’s manga series fell on the floor by mistake, allowing Nagatoro and her friends to discover them. After reading his manga and seeing his awkward reaction and behavior, Nagatoro decided to toy with him and started calling him “Senpai” instead of his real name. Nagatoro would frequently hang out with Senpai in the Art Club room, bothering him with her relentless antics, which often leaves him embarrassed. However, as they spend more time together, Nagatoro and Senpai’s relationship builds up from a sort of friendship to one that seems to lead to a romantic pairing.
Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro was first adapted into an anime series directed by Hirokazu Hanai at Telecom Animation Film, along with Taku Kishimoto for supervising scripts, Misaki Suzuki for character designs, and Gin providing the soundtrack. It aired from April 2021 to June 2021 with a total of 12 episodes. It began airing in April 2021 and continued until June 2021 for a total of 12 episodes. The first season of the anime series may be seen in its entirety on a variety of online streaming platforms, including Netflix and Crunchyroll.
The season one of Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro gained widespread popularity. Thankfully, the anime series was confirmed to have a second season during an October 2021 event. Recently, AnimeTV announced that Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack (Season 2) will premiere on January 2023. This time, OLM studio will be in charge of the animation production. Shinji Ushiro will be the director of the sequel while the same staff from season one will work on scripts, character design, and soundtrack.
