Everspace 2, the hit RPG space shooter from developer and publisher ROCKFISH Games, will officially roll out its first free major update on October 2nd, 2023, according to a new Steam post.
This “Armed and Dangerous” update will include a variety of new content including new set items and variants, more catalysts and item attributes, improved ship customization, and quality-of-life updates.
Additionally, a sneak peek stream has been slated for this Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at 11 AM pacific time. It will showcase “new, never seen before set items and item attributes” and new perks for discovering missing secrets and selling resources.

Everspace 2 has made quite the impact on fans of the original game. It’s a sci-fi shooter with smooth and intuitive controls, accompanied by gorgeous environments and a gameplay loop that vastly improved on its predecessor.

The first major update is pretty impressive, likely offering enough additional items to reinvigorate fans who have already completed the game. Introducing 15 new Tier 4 wings will definitely make customization feel more flexible, and encourage players to unlock them.
But the highlight is surely the quality-of-life changes. Adding perks to smooth out missing secrets and make use of resources will have lasting effects no matter how much progress you have. The emphasis on saves is also appreciated. Quicksave, quickload and auto-saving are features that better serve Everspace 2’s pick-up-and-play attitude.
